Elephant & Piggie's We Are in a Play!

As our team was tasked with designing a show that could fit on top of a pre-existing set for The Realness, a play set in New York in the 1990s, we decided to embrace a more contemporary look for all of the characters. The Squirrel singers were each given a musical style and corresponding personality by the director: grunge, punk, pop, and bachata. Each squirrel wore a monochromatic jumpsuit with matching sequined ears. I used accessories and styling to bring their personalities to life. Bright splashes of blue and pink helped create the titular characters Elephant and Piggie. Fun and carefree Piggie got a tie-dyed, spray painted jumper look, while neurotic Elephant wore a buttoned-up plaid and knee shorts.
